Tribal Electric Supply Company (TESCO):
TESCO was established as a corporatized entity under PEPCO on August 5, 2004, as a first step in Pakistan’s vertical disintegration of the power sector. The monopoly to privatization and integration to corruption of Pakistan’s power sector is happening gradually. The power wing of WAPDA has been divided into 15 companies for generating, transmitting, and distributing electricity due to the Government of Pakistan’s approval of a strategic plan in 1994.
TESCO Tribal Electric Supply Company is one of WADPA’s largest distribution companies, serving the entire country’s tribal region.
